Our sessions are delivered in a fun and informative way by our staff who have experience working with, and delivering sessions to, children of all ages.
This is suitable for a group, class or school project. Students create a ceramic wall mural that can be displayed inside or outdoors.
There is some preparation involved in this before you reach the tile painting stage and the project can be managed by the students from start to finish (with a bit of guidance from Colourful Chameleons and their teachers!).
We are more than happy to come to the school and introduce the project to the students before you begin.
Each project is individual to the school so please give us a call or email us to discuss your requirements.
Pointillism / Mark Making / Fingerprint Art
Students create and paint their own design onto a 10cm tile using one of these methods. We can tailor the 1.5 hour session to whichever key stage pupils are at and discuss subjects such as the materials they're using including where the ceramic came from and how it came to be in it's current form, history of kilns and what happens to our glazes and the pottery when it's being fired. We can also mention famous artists who are relevant to the methods they're using.
Plate, Bowl or Mug Painting
We can show you how to transfer simple images onto pottery to create a unique piece. This is a great way to produce a personal piece of pottery which is themed to a subject you may be studying. Designs could be drawn or found and printed in class then brought to the studio (or we can bring the studio to you). We'll show you all you need to know to get the image onto your chosen piece and then you can paint and personalise it as you wish before leaving the masterpiece with us to glaze and fire!
