Decoupage is the art of decorating an object using coloured paper cut outs. Each layer is sealed with a special glue (similar to PVA but fast drying with a different finish). It’s thought to have originated in Eastern Siberia as a form of tomb art. From there it headed to China in the 12th Century, Italy in the 17th and then spread to the rest of Europe. It is now having a resurgence in popularity and becoming a favourite pastime for all you lovely, crafty people!
